The idea for Naked Reverie came about when I trying to decide on a name for my new e-commerce business and the types of products I wanted to sell. As a sexual health and wellness educator, I know one of the biggest impediments to having a healthy sex life is stress. We constantly experience stress in everyday life from our work environments to taking care of our families, paying the bills, etc. It can be hard getting into the mood after a long day of dealing with stress. It can block us from fully enjoying life and all the sensations we are experiencing during one of our favorite pastime activities – Sex. Stress not only exists in the mind but can also be stored in the body and our biggest sex organs are our brain and skin.
I have found that one of the ways to get yourself back to enjoying life and improving your sexual response is by carving out time to relax and mentally detach from stress and getting back in touch with your body. This could be done through meditating, soaking in a tub, reading a book, having a hobby, or going for a walk in nature.
With this in mind, I wanted to create a business and give it a name that evokes an image or a memory to help remind people to take the time to take care of their mind and body. I also wanted to develop products to enjoy during these moments.
I started thinking and asked myself what does it look and feel like to me when I am enjoying moments of detaching from stress and taking care of myself. I know I like to get lost in a daydream or pleasant memory while soaking in a hot tub or taking a long hot bath. So, I thought, how would I describe this moment? I thought, if I am in a tub I am generally naked and after a quick thesaurus check of daydream, I found that reverie best explained this feeling. To be in reverie is to be lost in a daydream-like state or fanciful thoughts.
So, it is my intention is to inspire you to take the time to care for yourself and I hope you enjoy these products as you enjoy your moments of Naked Reverie.
